Substance use rarely occurs alone. Depression, anxiety, eating disorders and other psychiatric conditions frequently co-occur and worsen outcomes when treated separately. This session focuses on screening, diagnosis and integrated treatment for co-occurring disorders, including affective drivers of substance use and models that bring mental health and addiction care under one roof.
Topics include: dual diagnosis assessment, substance use and eating disorders, mood and anxiety disorders in SUD, integrated treatment teams, motivational approaches, outcome measurement.
